DOP是一种广泛使用的主增塑剂，它与许多聚合物有良好的相融性，增塑效率高，有较低的挥发性，较好的低温柔软性，很低的抽出性和毒性，良好的电性能。广泛用于树脂的增塑剂，主要用于PVC板、薄膜、人造革、电线包皮等的制造，也用于硝酸素漆，使漆有弹性和扩张强度，也可用于丁腈橡胶的软化剂。

Colorless oily liquid, undissolvable in water, soluble in alcohol, ether, mineral oil etc. Most organic solvent. DOP is a kind of main plasticizers to be used widely, especially for vinyl resin. It has good solubility with many polymers, high plasticization, low separability and toxicity and good conductibility. It can be used to make PVC board, plastic film, artificial leather, cable sheathing etc. It also can be made nitrocellulose painting, to get more spring and tension. It is also the soffenting agent in butadiene-acrylonitrile rubber.
